Frequently Asked Questions
I've enjoyed serving clients since 2006 so I've come up with the most frequently asked questions and their answers for you...
How long have you been a photographer?
I have always loved art and photography, so in 2005 when I started my associates degree curriculum at College of the Mainland, I decided to focus on film photography. By spring 2006 I was shooting a little more than part-time as community members regularly called the college campus asking for photographer referrals, and so my life as a photographer officially began! After completing my studies at COM, I went on to the Art Institute of Houston and graduated with a bachelor of fine arts degree with a major in photography in 2010, and have used my passion for the arts to document countless weddings, portraits, special events, and more. My favorite weddings and portraits can all be viewed in the various galleries on this site.
Where are you located?
I'm located in Montgomery, Texas in an adorable little community called Woodforest, which is midway between The Woodlands and Lake Conroe, and happy to travel for weddings and portrait sessions. I photograph clients all over the greater southeast Texas area, including Houston, Galveston, and all the areas in between. My preference is to shoot outdoors but I do shoot indoors for newborns, family, and special sessions. Please inquire for more information.
How do I book a session?
If you're interested in booking a session, you can email or text me using the contact information provided at the bottom of the website, or use the contact page. I'll personally share the booking information and available packages with you. Payment will be required at the time of booking a portrait session.
Do you provide wardrobe help/styling?
I love to help my clients feel and look their best! All basic portrait packages will come with a virtual consultation to learn more about the client, their family, and what types of images will make their heart sing! We can discuss your preferred style and I will offer suggestions including a style board for inspiration.
For clients that want or need a more hands on approach, I love online shopping and can assist with wardrobe selection that coordinates and compliments each family member. For this personalized service, clients can select this as an add-on to their portrait package and I will prepare several style boards for your approval along with links to the outfits and where to purchase. This is a valuable service and great for large families that don't have time to figure out the finer details!
What days and times are you available for sessions?
The short answer: Monday through Sunday by appointment only. The long answer really depends on the type of session or event I am contracted to photograph. I always strive to accommodate my clients and schedule our time together to best meet both of our needs. Please reach out to me by using the 'Contact' tab and we'll figure out the details!
Do you charge for travel?
Depending on your desired session location, yes. My home base is in Montgomery between The Woodlands and Lake Conroe, so areas that are further than a 20 mile radius may require a small travel fee.
What payment options do you accept?
I accept all forms of payment! Venmo, Zelle, Cash, and Check are all great!
Please note that portrait session services must be paid for at the time of booking, and that all events and wedding services require a 50% deposit and signed contract in order to reserve your date.
How long is the typical wait for proofs and how do I receive my final images?
For portrait sessions the typical time for proofing delivery is 2 weeks. For weddings the time is a bit longer at 4 to 6 weeks. All proofs are uploaded to the proofing gallery and a private link with password will be sent to you. Once you have selected the image files you want to keep and provided me with comments and retouching requests, the turnaround time for delivery of completed images can be anywhere from 24 hours to 10 days, depending on the volume of files and retouching requested. I personally edit all images once for the proofing gallery, and do a final edit and minor retouching on the files you select.
Do you charge extra for retouching images?
Yes and no. I do basic retouching to all image files, and full retouching is complimentary for all canvas and wall art packages ordered.
- Basic retouching involves smoothing skin to reduce noticeable imperfections, remove dust or lint on dark clothing, and basic brightening of faces.
- Full retouching involves smoothing out tan lines, teeth whitening, eye brightening and sharpening, removing bug bites, smoothing hair, garment/wardrobe adjustments, and any other special enhancements that will really make the portrait extra special.
For portrait and wedding clients that would like to only purchase digital files, a special request can be made for full portrait editing and pricing will be provided at that time.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes, the policy is as follows:
1) If you have to cancel and reschedule due to illness or an emergency there is no penalty and we will re-schedule your portrait session for a mutually agreeable time/date. We're all human and sometimes emergencies happen. No one wants you or your family to endure a portrait session while having a major illness or feeling the pain from a death in the family! We'll reconnect when you're ready and your payment will reserve that future spot for you.
2) For all other cancellation reasons that are not emergency situations or related to specific family situations, it will be a case by case basis determination on whether or not the session will be rescheduled or a refund provided.
3) For all other situations, refunds will only be offered if the request is made within 24 hours of the original booking date. Unfortunately, due to the nature of this work, I cannot offer refunds.
If for any reason I have to cancel our session, I will offer another date plus an incentive depending on the nature of the cancellation.
